The Women in Construction and Engineering programme for 2023 will kick off on 8 March with a free webinar, 'Unlocking gender, diversity and inclusion potential through flexible working' which will look at how the move to flexible working will help the sector address its skills crisis.
New Civil Engineer editor Claire Smith will chair the webinar with a line up of expert guest speakers on flexible working.
“The pandemic helped fast track changes in working patterns in the construction and civil engineering industries, which have brought both benefits and challenge,” said Smith. “During the webinar discussion we are going to explore how the changes could unlock more potential in the sector by addressing gender balance, diversity and inclusion. The aim is to share best practice to ensure firms moving to new working arrangements get the maximum benefits for both their business and their staff.”
